A Needle in the Haystack This commonly known phrase promises both a challenge and a prize. The challenge is to find the elusive needle amidst the hay while at the same time luring you to the hoped-for gift represented by the needle. After the loss of our first Vizsla, Nutmeg, and the despair which followed, our family set out in search for our second “needle.” In early December 2009 we celebrated finding our latest prize, our second Vizsla, we call Honey. Since then our family has the joy of having another best friend who exhibits all of the qualities of a Vizsla, i.e. unconditional love, the desire to be touched, a willingness to learn and exhibit that knowledge and especially, a devotee of soft beds. Honey has shown her strong Vizsla instincts by achieving her Junior Hunt title during her first hunting season and coupled with her obedience training, she received the Canine Good Citizen award during this same time. With an active nose and tail, Honey is indeed our “needle.” She rises to challenges placed before her and she rewards us with her love and affection.
